The 774,000 Special Public Works programme is designed to employ 1,000 Nigerians from each of the 774 local government areas in Nigeria, and each of the workers is expected to earn N20,000 monthly for three months duration of the job.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has flagged off the Programme designed to engage 774,000 itinerant & unskilled workers in Nigeria for a period of 3 months.
“Earlier on Tuesday in Abuja, I flagged off the Special Public Works Programme designed to engage 774,000 itinerant & unskilled workers in Nigeria for a period of 3 months. They’re to be paid a total sum of N60,000 for the period and they’re to perform various community services”.

Note Six Banks have been chosen for account opening and payment of the SPW beneficiaries. Among the banks that were appointed to engage in the exercise are Heritage Bank Plc, Zenith Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA), Access Bank, Fidelity Bank, and First City Monument Bank (FCMB).

Beneficiaries of SPW Programme are advised to go to any of the bank assigned to his/her LGA for SPW Account Verification & Activation.
