The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has described Community Policing as the most effective weapon to combat crime.
The Inspector General of Police was in Owerri, the Imo state capital to address a group of traditional rulers and stakeholders as part of his one day working visit to the state.
The Police boss urged Nigerians to embrace the model policing Strategy.
He disclosed that plans were underway to enlist the youths into the police force, with the expectation that they would work with the Royal fathers at the grassroots.

Governor Hope Uzodimma used the opportunity to condemn the carnage and destructions carried out by hoodlums hiding under the ENDSARS protest. He however promised to rebuild and rehabilitate all police stations burnt down by hoodlums in the state.
IGP Adamu in company of the Governor, visited the police stations at Owerri and Nwaorieubi, Mbaitolu FMC to ascertain the level of damage done during the protest.
