If you’re new to the IELTS exam, or if you’re simply looking for an extra boost, here are some tips for getting a 7.5 overall band score in IELTS.
1. Use the Web-based practice test mode. It’s available on most exams and can help you get acquainted with the testing experience before you actually take the test. You can also use it to identify areas where you need more practice: once you’ve identified those areas, try to focus your study time on those specific topics!
2. Don’t worry about making mistakes—you’re allowed to submit multiple attempts at each section of the test. Just make sure that your answers are correct and that they match the correct answer choices!
3. If it’s hard to answer a question, try rephrasing it in simpler terms until you understand what information is being asked for—you might need more time than usual to answer questions like these because they require some thought on your part!
What Is IELTS
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It stands for “International English Language Testing System,” but it’s also called the “Fluency in English Test.”
The IELTS test is designed to measure a person’s ability to use English as a second language. The test can be taken in any country that has an approved IELTS test center.
The IELTS test is made up of three sections: Listening, Reading, and Writing. Each section requires 4 hours to complete.
In order to get a 7.5 overall band score on your IELTS test, you must achieve at least 240 in each of Listening and Reading sections; 240 in Listening and Writing; and 250 in Reading and Writing.
IELTS is a test of English language proficiency for non-native speakers. The test evaluates your ability to understand and use English in context, and can help you decide if you’re ready to study at an English-speaking university.
You’ll need a minimum IELTS band score of 7.0 to register for any degree program (with less than three years of education) in the United States. You may also be able to get into certain postgraduate programs if your minimum IELTS band score is 7.5 or higher and you have at least two years of work experience in the field related to your intended degree program.
IELTS has six parts: Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking, Grammar and Vocabulary. You’ll take one part at a time over two days; there are no proctored exams or essays like in TOEFL. Each section takes about two hours to complete and is administered on computers with software that allows you to answer questions automatically through voice recognition software.

IELTS has six levels: from A1 (low) to E6 (high). The overall band score ranges from zero to 9 and a total of 200 points can be achieved. The highest level is 6, which corresponds to the highest level of English proficiency required for university studies in many countries around the world.
According to IELTS guidelines, each section must be at least 70% correct in order to count towards your overall score. In addition, you will only receive full marks if you answer all questions correctly on the test. You should also note that there are no penalties for guessing answers or leaving them blank; however, incorrect answers do count as a mark against your total score!
